Juliette Lewis is in awe of “the magic happenings” produced through social media.

The 42-year-old What’s Eating Gilbert Grape actress is active on the Internet, having connected with fans via Instagram and Twitter for quite some time now.

In addition to creating a stronger bond with people who admire her work, Juliette tends to make links with followers in real life, as she did with Our Lady J, who is a writer for TV series Transgender.

“One of the magic happenings of social media is u can learn a little about someone from afar, become an admirer of their talent/work/spirit as I did @ourladyj then find yourself filming on the same lot as them months later. I mean what are the chances? And that folks, is the universe at work. #cosmicconnections #beopen (sic),” Juliette wrote on Instagram Friday in a caption attached to a picture of herself with Our Lady J by her side.

The serendipitous meeting took place at the Paramount Pictures Studios lot in Los Angeles.

And Our Lady J was equally chuffed to have met one of her longtime idols.

“So lucky to meet this #rockstar today on the lot! Love @juliettelewis (sic),” she wrote on her own Instagram account in a caption attached to the same image Juliette shared.

Although Juliette is quite outgoing nowadays, she wasn’t always this way.

Her personality was markedly different growing up.

"I used to be really insular, really introverted, spoke very little words," she told People Magazine. "I couldn't articulate myself.”

Juliette will next be seen in a live-action reimagining of hit Eighties cartoon Jem and the Holograms, which is due to reach theatres in October.
