Justin Timberlake has vowed to "get his swaddle on" and get to grips with "poopy diapers".

The actor-and-singer picked up the Innovation Awards at yesterday's iHeartRadio ceremony, where he was handed his prize by Tom Ford and played a special tribute clip that featured A-list pals like Jimmy Fallon and Taylor Swift.

In a touching speech, he thanked his wife Jessica Biel, who is currently pregnant with their first child.

"You can't have innovation without creations, so finally I want to thank my best friend, my favourite collaborator, my wife Jessica at home who's watching," he told the audience. "Honey, I can't wait to see our greatest creation yet. Don't worry, Daddy's headed home right now to innovate by learning how to change a poopy diaper and get my swaddle on."

Justin, 34, became emotional when he saw the tribute video and expressed his love for everyone who spoke in it.

It hit home how far he's come from a boy who was labelled "weird" at school. He thanked his mother Lynn Harless for keeping his spirits up during that tough time and passed on words of wisdom to those in a similar position now.

"If you're a young person, like I used to be, and you're at home watching and you're being called weird, or you're being called different, or whatever the hell you're being called, I'm here tonight to tell you, your critics do not count. Their words will fade. You won't," he empowered them. "Stay foolish, stay hungry. Dream, work hard and who knows, maybe someday, you'll find yourself standing on a stage and maybe someday somebody will be giving you an award calling you an innovator."
