Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman have reportedly been separated for several months now.
The couple tied the knot in 2004 after meeting on the set of Underworld, an action horror film Len directed and Kate starred in that was released to theaters in 2003.
The pair have been on the receiving end of rumours suggesting they are no longer an item, especially since he was recently spotted out with model CJ Franco in Los Angeles while Kate has been busy filming Underworld 5 in Prague.
Sources told People magazine "there has been no drama" in their separation, which occurred earlier this year (2015).
"They are still friendly and spend time together in L.A. when Kate is there," the insider noted, claiming she is not open to entertaining emotional havoc when it comes to the split. "It's just not Kate's style. They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart."
According to Us Weekly, personality differences were the main contribution to their alleged breakup, as towards the end of their relationship they were unable to see eye to eye on key issues.
“They tried to make it work, but they end up falling back into old habits and fighting,” a source informed the publication.
Len, 42, was photographed partying without his wedding ring on with 24-year-old model CJ at The Nice Guy hotspot in West Hollywood on 17 November 2015.
Although there is a significant age difference between the rumoured couple, it's claimed the affair is more than just a fling.
"(Len and CJ) have a genuine connection based on a friendship," a source told People.
Kate, 42, and Len do not share any children of their own together, but he is stepfather to the actress' daughter Lily, who she shares with former partner Michael Sheen.
It's claimed as they move forward with the divorce process, both parties are concerned with Lily's emotional welfare.
"Kate is not dating and only focused on her daughter and work," the People insider emphasised, with a second source stating: "[Len's] primary concern in all of this is Lily. He loves his stepdaughter and is there for her."
