(Cover) - EN Movies - Kate Hudson has joined the cast of Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here.

The actress has jumped on board with the movie which received $2.68 million in funding from fans, reports Variety.

She will play the wife of Zach’s character and producers intend to begin recording scenes in Los Angeles, California, this summer.

The former Scrubs star will play a struggling thespian and parent who is trying to find out who he is.

The 35-year-old character ends up attempting to teach his children at home as part of his quest to find a purpose in life.

It comes as private schooling is no longer financially an option and the only state education on offer appears to be a bad decision for the youngsters.

Zach raised the money for the motion picture as part of a Kickstarter campaign and has gathered plenty of good names to feature.

The likes of Mandy Patinkin, Anna Kendrick, Jim Parsons and Josh Gad gave already signed on for the independent drama.

Almost 40,000 people willing to donate to the creative cause made the flick possible, forking up the huge figure in 26 days and with only four days left of the deadline to go.

The entire film is expected to cost $5 million and Worldview Entertainment recently agreed to bridge the gap for funds.

Wild Bunch is taking care of international sales for the movie at the Cannes International Film Festival and the Creative Artists Agency will represent rights in the United States.

Director Zach will use a screenplay written with his brother Adam to create the motion picture. Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg will produce Wish I Was Here through their company Double Feature Films.
