Kate Mara 'splits from boyfriend'

Kata Mara has reportedly split from her boyfriend of four years.

The 31-year-old actress began dating fellow actor Max Minghella in 2010.

But it appears their lengthy romance is no more, as Us Weekly reports they have recently called it quits.

"Max and Kate have broken up and gotten back together a few times over the course of their relationship, but this one looks like it's sticking," an insider told the magazine. "The relationship just ran its course."

On Monday Kate walked the Emmy Awards red carpet without the company of 28-year-old Max, who is most well known for his work in The Internship. The couple are normally an item at similar industry affairs and apparently people found it odd Max wasn’t there to support her.

Kate was nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actress category at this year’s Emmys for her portrayal of character Zoe Barnes in Netflix series House of Cards, but Allison Janney took home the trophy for her role in Showtime programme Masters of Sex.

Kate, who is Rooney Mara’s sister, is in hot demand professionally speaking.

She has signed on to star in two forthcoming The Fantastic Four franchise films as superhero, The Invisible Woman. These movies will be released in 2015 and 2017.

Kate can next be seen starring in Captive, a thriller centering on a drug-addict single mother who gets taken hostage by a murderous man.

Her alleged ex Max is also very busy with his career, as The Mindy Project star is currently shooting post-apocalyptic drama Into the Forest, which is due for release in theatres next year.
