Katie Holmes thinks Angelina Jolie is "incredible in all aspects of her life".

Last week Angelina confirmed she'd had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a precaution against cancer as she carries a gene which makes her more predisposed to the disease. That came two years after she had a preventative double mastectomy for the same reason.

On Sunday Angelina received the best villain award for her role in Maleficent at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, and she gave a rousing speech telling children not be afraid to be themselves. It struck a chord with Katie, who attended with her eight-year-old daughter Suri.

"Well I'm such a fan of Angelina. And I think she's incredible in all aspects of her life," the actress told ET. "I think she's just an inspiration. And her speech just, you know, topped it off."

Angelina's daughters Shiloh and Zahara were on hand to support her on Sunday and they were pictured beaming and hugging her when she received the prize.

Taking to the stage, the actress tried her best to reassure kids that nasty comments don't mean anything.

"I wanna say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different. And I felt out of place - too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in," she stated. "Never good at fitting in, and then I realised something, something I hope you all realise - different is good.

"And, as your villain, I would also say 'cause a little trouble - it's good for you."

Katie isn't the only person to praise Angelina lately. She was recently crowed Britain's top feminist thanks to the way she empowers women, beating out the likes of Emma Watson and Beyoncé Knowles.
