Keanu Reeves didn't dare joke about having onscreen sex with director Eli Roth's wife in their new movie Knock Knock.
Eli helms the thriller movie, which sees Keanu's married character Evan Webber held captive in his home by two teenage girls who pretend to be stranded before bedding him and tying him up. Actress Lorenza Izzo, who is married to Eli, plays one of the dangerous females and has an intimate scene with the actor and their co-star Ana de Armas.
"Those scenes are weird, you know," Keanu sighed to talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. "But Eli had created a great situation of trust and rehearsal, but eventually you have to get naked and simulate and do... I wasn't that guy who was like, 'Hey Eli, your wife's hot'. Like every day, (claps hands), 'I can't wait for the sex scene. Eli! Look how amazing Lorenza looks today!' I mean she's a fine actress but... No he was really cool, everyone was good and we had fun."
When Jimmy noted it's not a film couples would necessarily enjoy, Keanu joked it's the perfect date flick, but that men should lock up their girlfriends after.
The 51-year-old star has many movie credits to his names, some of which are more popular than others. When it came to the prospect of starring in a follow-up to his 1994 movie Speed, in which he played a cop who had to stop a bus from exploding, Keanu wasn't won over by the plot
"I don't think anybody knows all my movies, I've made some pretty wacky movies out there," he laughed. "No I didn't get to be (in the Speed sequel). Well, I decided not to. I loved working with (director) Jan de Bont and Sandra (Bullock, co-star) of course and it was just a situation in life where I got the script and I read the script and I was like, 'AGHHHH'. It's about a cruise ship, I was like, OK, speed, cruise ship... And I was thinking, bus and cruise ship, speed, bus, not so fast but then cruise ship is even slower than a bus and I was just like, 'I love you guys, but I just can't do this.'"
