Keanu Reeves is always on the hunt for work.

The Hollywood star is back on the big screen with new film John Wick, which sees him return to his action best.

He may be a cinema regular, but Keanu isn't comfortable when there's a break in his filming schedule.

"When I'm not working I'm trying to find work or develop work," he told British newspaper Metro.

"I've been involved with a motorcycle company for a couple of years now, we're building motorcycles, really exceptional machines."

While motorbikes may be his passion, new film John Wick is more focused on cars. Keanu plays the title character, an ex-hitman who comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him.

There are action scenes galore, and the 50-year-old enjoyed learning new skills.

"I like a tough day. They provided a few months of training, judo, jujitsu.

"[It felt empowering.] Absolutely. It's fun. I'm f**king John Wick man. Here comes trouble," he laughed.

Action is nothing new for Keanu, who loses count of how many times he's saved the world on screen.

"I think a couple of times. The Day the Earth Stood Still. Bill and Ted kind of saved the world. Constantine saves the world... The Matrix kind of saves the world. That's four... Four? I think there's only four," he listed.

Keanu was been a working actor since the early 80s, and rose to worldwide fame playing Ted Logan in teen favourite Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

The 1989 film spawned a TV series and a follow-up film two years later. There's even talk of a modern day reboot.

"I love the characters of Bill and Ted. I find them heroic. I think of them as being innocents. I love their strength to keep going on and their positive outlook on life," he smiled.
