Keira Knightley feels “quite loose” at the moment.

The 29-year-old actress, who is currently pregnant with her first child, attended the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night with her husband, Klaxons rocker James Righton.

The event was held in Los Angeles, where temperatures reached 28 degrees Centigrade, and Keira felt it was too hot to show off her baby bump.

“It’s boiling out here,” she told People magazine. “It just means you’re not going to wear anything tight. Some people do wear tight things… I don’t want to go for that. It’s all just quite loose.”

Keira stunned in a plum coloured gown by Erden. The A-line dress featured an empire waist which allowed fabric to drape over her protruding belly.

Keira is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role category at the SAG Awards for her work in The Imitation Game.

But while speaking on the red carpet, it appears the excitement of the night was trumped by pregnancy cravings.

“I keep eating my hair. I’m fairly hungry,” she joked.

Overall, Keira is finding pregnancy enjoyable and even quite liberating.

Instead of nervously preparing for red carpet appearances this awards season, she is opting for comfort.

“[My] waist has disappeared, I’m quite comfortable,” she laughed. “The shoes are quite high — they may come off later! I can [say], ‘Well, I’m pregnant so my shoes have to come off,’ and nobody is allowed to say anything so that is nice.”
