Kelly Brook stars in the new British independent movie, Taking Stock, written and directed by Maeve Murphy, the film will premiere at the Raindance Film Festival at London’s Vue Cinema Piccadilly on Sunday 4th October.

Taking Stock is a fun Bonnie and Clyde inspired escapade set in London. At rock bottom, Kate, played by Kelly Brook, seizes control of her destiny by bringing out her inner bad girl.

Kate is an out of work actress working in a shop, until she is unceremoniously made redundant. In a week from hell, Kate’s boyfriend leaves her, the shop goes bust and rent and gas bills have not been paid. Inspired by the notorious outlaw Bonnie Parker, Kate takes matters into her own hands and, gathering a gang from her young shop assistant friends, comes up with a plot to rob the shop. But where is her Clyde'

Kelly Brook is a UK actress and model. She has previously appeared as an actress in School for Seduction, Smallville, Piranha 3D and Keith Lemon: The Film. She also appeared in Calendar Girls in the West End and in Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig. Recently Kelly co-starred in NBC’s One Big Happy, a new sitcom produced by Ellen DeGeneres.

Kelly Brook said: “I'm delighted that Taking Stock will premiere at the Raindance Film Festival. I had so much fun on the shoot and think everyone involved, both behind and in front of the camera, should be proud of what has been achieved with such a small budget. The UK produces some great filmmaking talent and it's so good to be part of a home-grown project like this.”

Maeve Murphy is an award-winning writer/director. She was secretary of the Cambridge Footlights. Silent Grace, her first feature, was nominated for the Conflict and Resolution Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival, USA. Beyond the Fire, her second feature, won Best Feature at both the London Independent Film Festival and New York’s Garden State Film Festival. The film was broadcast on BBC2 in 2013 and was “Pick of the Day” in the Daily Mail.

Taking Stock is based on Maeve’s award-winning short film Sushi, Venice Film Festival 2011.

The cast also includes Scot Williams (The Crew, Beyond the Fire), Georgia Groome (London to Brighton; Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging), Jay Brown (Youngers, The Hunted) Femi Oyeniran (Anuvahood), Lorna Brown (Lile Soldat), Junchi Kajioka (47 Ronin, Sushi).

The 2015 Raindance Film Festival will take place from 23rd September to 4th October 2015 in Central London (Piccadilly Circus), screening 100 feature films and over 150 short films.
