Kendall Jenner reportedly doesn’t want to be linked to her famous family any more.

The 18-year-old has forged a successful modelling career for herself, featuring in campaigns for Chanel and Marc Jacobs among others. But despite her achievements so far, the teen is rumoured to be planning to disassociate herself from her relatives to continue pushing ahead with her work.

“She doesn’t want to be associated with them anymore,” a source told In Touch. “Kendall thinks being a model is a way more legitimate career than being a reality star.”

The half-sister of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian has spoken directly about the struggles she had to be accepted in the fashion world. While many assume she had an easy in road thanks to her famous family, she said the reality was all together different.

“People think that this success just came to me. But it didn't,” she explained to LOVE magazine. “What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn't take me seriously as a model.

Because of the TV show. I went on castings and some people weren't feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn't recognize me. I was like, 'Thank you. Please don't recognize me.'"

However Kendall’s mum, Kris Jenner is not happy with her second youngest child’s ideas. The momager is reportedly hoping to keep the brunette on their show for as long as possible.

“[Kris will do] whatever it takes to keep her as part of the Kardashian clan,” the source continued to In Touch. “Kris stands to make a ton of money off Kendall being the next Kim.”
