Kevin McHale bonded with Eddie Izzard on the set of Boychoir.

The musical movie tells the story of an orphaned young boy who ends up at a Boy Choir school and shows great talent that he never knew he possessed.

Kevin plays choir master Carvelle, and is joined by Eddie, Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates in the film.

"We were lucky enough to get Eddie. I spent a lot of time with Eddie on set. Dustin was in tonnes of scenes and Eddie and I had a similar schedule, obviously we didn't know each other before, we bonded. I love him, he's incredible," Kevin smiled on Good Morning Britain.

"He's serious. We talked a lot about politics, and he can speak a billion languages. He does his stand up routine in German and French, so he was learning Spanish at the time. It's like he's just taking over the world!"

Kevin found fame on smash hit TV show Glee, which came to an end after six seasons earlier this year. Going from music student on the programme to teacher in Choirboy, the 27-year-old jokes that he's not branching out too far.

In Glee the star played wheelchair-bound Artie Abrams. In real life people still find it hard to get their heads around the fact that he is able to walk.

"I thought that at some point it would come out that I'm not actually in a wheelchair, but still six years on it happens every single day. [People say] it's a miracle, every day," he laughed.
