Kurt Russell thinks making wine is like making a film.

The 62-year-old has appeared in big Hollywood movies during his career including Silkwood, Tango & Cash and Poseidon.

But when he gets a chance to step away from movie sets, one of his favourite pastimes is making wine.

“Gogi wine is the wine that I make. It’s a high-end Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It’s really, really fun. I love being at the vineyard. I love learning about making wine. I love making really good wine. I love drinking it. I love people’s response to it,” he told Collider.

While Kurt still enjoys working as an actor, he admits it’s hard to tear himself away from the vineyard once he gets started with the winemaking process.

One of the reasons he gets so much pleasure from it is because of its similarities to filmmaking.

“It’s so much like making a movie, only you’re doing everything. I’ve gotta say, it’s tough to get out of that world. It’s fun and it’s endlessly fascinating,” he continued. “It is a lot like making a movie. There is no part of it that’s formulaic. It doesn’t work that way. Every year, it’s different. I’m just having a great time with that.”

Kurt is also having a brilliant time in his career right now, as his new feature The Art of the Steal is coming out soon. In addition to this picture, he has three other films on his schedule this year, one of which is Fast & Furious 7, which is currently on hold following the sad death of Paul Walker last year.

“I still love making movies. I do, and I always have,” he said.
