Shia LaBeouf will make his Broadway debut in Orphans.

The 26-year-old actor joins Alec Baldwin in the forthcoming re-working of Lyle Kessler’s 1983 play, Variety reports.

The Transformers star will play a character named Treat, the oldest of two orphans in the three-character stage work.

Alec will play a wealthy man kidnapped by Shia’s character.

Orphans, directed by Daniel Sullivan, will begin previews on March 19.

The play is scheduled to open on April 7 at New York City’s Schoenfeld Theater.

It will mark Alec’s second Broadway role in nine years.

The 30 Rock star previously enjoyed a role in On the Twentieth Century.

The third actor cast in Orphans has yet to be announced.

Shia and Alec meanwhile join a long list of Hollywood stars recently turning to Broadway.

As Variety reports, Jessica Chastain (The Heiress), Katie Holmes (Dead Accounts), Al Pacino (The Golden Boy), Scarlett Johansson (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) and Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy) have also recently landed roles on the Great White Way.
