Lady Gaga was absolutely terrified about taking on a role in American Horror Story: Hotel because she feared the job would upset her fiancé Taylor Kinney.

The 29-year-old Applause singer portrays Elizabeth/The Countess in the fifth season of the hit TV series.

Her future husband Taylor is also an actor, starring in films like Zero Dark Thirty and television show Chicago Fire.

And when Gaga was offered a part in American Horror Story, the superstar was afraid he would feel she was encroaching on his professional territory.

"What guy in that scenario would be like, ‘Sure, babe, do TV!'?" she told E! News. "He does TV, that's his thing. I do music, and you know, we're together. But I sort of was like, ‘Is it cool if I do TV?,' And he was like, ‘F**k yeah!'"

To Gaga’s surprise Taylor has been "exponentially supportive the entire time and just like, so cool”.

He has even provided the star with a bevy of incredibly acting advice.

"[He was like], ‘We can read scripts together, and we can talk about our characters together, and I can teach you how to be on set!'" she noted. "And he taught me all about etiquette and what actors would appreciate during their coverage. He taught me to make sure that I was always available fully to the actors when I was working so that when the coverage is on them that I don't drop my character, that I'm always in it for them, and you know, that's invaluable advice."

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy is so impressed with Gaga’s performance on the show, he has invited her to star in the sixth season.

She would love to consider taking on an acting career in addition to making music.

"I think I'd like to do like one great acting project a year," Gaga said. "I think one a year would be great. You know, I'd really like to do a film now. I'm ready to do a film. But it's about the right people, the right project. I want to take some time to write something…I want to make a great piece. It's just so not important to just be in acting and music and be that person that does both things. Just having that on my roster is not important to me. I really genuinely love it and I love writing songs, so the future for me is very good."
