LiLo completes community service

Lindsay Lohan has completed her community service.

The 28-year-old actress is currently on probation stemming from a 2012 reckless driving conviction in California and she was ordered to complete 240 hours of community service as part of the original plea deal.

In February an additional 125 community service hours were added to her sentence by a judge. But a probation progress hearing on May 7 revealed that Lindsay was far from fulfilling the court-ordered labour.

Since then, however, Lindsay has been working tirelessly to complete the required hours of service.

Prosecutor Chief Deputy Terry White confirmed to TMZ.com that the Mean Girls star had finished the 125 hours by working nearly eight hours a day for the past few weeks without a break.

Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Holley is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday with written proof that the actress has finished the community service.

This will mark the first occasion in seven years that the redheaded star will be off probation.

Lindsay has been doing community service at an organisation based in London, where she is currently residing.

At the progress hearing earlier this month, lawyers for the actress attempted to excuse her dearth of hours by claiming the facility where she performs her duties takes too long to get to.

“Her lawyers said Lindsay couldn’t complete the hours because the place she does community service is too far away,” a courtroom eyewitness told Radar Online. “It’s 90 minutes from her residence in London.”

TMZ reports her attorneys lamented on behalf of their client that Lindsay is forced to hire a car service to make the three-hour roundtrip commute to and from the community service facility in England.

But the judge was not impressed and made it clear she would be in deep trouble if her hours were lacking.
