Lindsay Lohan wants a "diligent routine".
The 28-year-old actress has relocated from New York to London for her debut theatre role in the West End production of Speed-the-Plow. The play is written by David Mamet and Lindsay takes on the role of Karen, a secretary to a rude producer.
When asked what triggered her moving to the British capital for the job, Lindsay explained what she hopes will come of it.
"I’m at a point when I want a diligent routine and I really want to get back into work," she told Time Out London. "And I wanted to do something different: people have certain perceptions of me and I wanted to change them by doing something like a Mamet play. I’m hoping it’ll take away attention from me as a celebrity name and draw attention to the fact that I’m an actress."
Lindsay could be referring to her former partying lifestyle and run-ins with the police, which resulted in her completing a court-ordered stint in rehab last year.
Since arriving in the city from over the pond, the flame-haired star has been keeping busy enjoying what it has to offer, and is a regular at the exclusive Chiltern Firehouse restaurant.
"When I first went there it wasn’t properly open. And then like all of a sudden there’s tons of paparazzi, so I stopped going for a while. But it’s funny I’ve become associated with it," she added.
"I’m always in Mayfair: I walk to China Tang on Sundays. I love Cecconi’s. I love Roka. I love walking in Notting Hill; I watched the World Cup there!
"I sold my place in New York. I love the energy of New York but I feel London’s more adult. I mean, things do close here."
