Actor Liam Hemsworth has always felt on a different page to everyone else around him, but he isn't sure why.

The Hunger Games star is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood right now thanks to his role in the hit franchise and movies including The Last Song and The Expendables 2. However, Liam is keen not to be pigeonholed as an actor, just as he likes to march to the beat of his own drum in real life.

"I always feel that I’m on a different page to the people around me, I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing," he confessed to Britain's The Independent newspaper. "I’m pretty outspoken on a lot of things that I believe in, and at high school I felt like an outsider in a lot of ways, and I don’t know how to explain that. I’m always someone who preaches that you should be yourself and not conform to what society says of you: make decisions based on what you think is right, don’t make decisions based on fear.”

The 25-year-old has had a lot of guidance from his older brothers, fellow actors Chris and Luke. Chris in particular has been a role model for Liam, thanks to parts including Thor in the Marvel movies. Liam can still recall the moment his 32-year-old sibling rang their father, telling him to check his bank account.

"(My father) called my brother Chris back and said: ‘I don’t know how to feel. Since I left home I have had debts and I thought I’d be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared,’" he said. "They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us, I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that.”

As well as helping his parents out, Liam also wants to help make a difference in his native Australia and is proud to be an ambassador for the Australian Childhood Foundation.

"If you want to be a good person who adds to society, you have responsibility," he explained."That is something I take very seriously.”
