Lindsay Lohan pulled out of a much-hyped TV interview because "the timing wasn't right".
The actress is promoting her new film Liz & Dick, in which she portrays Dame Elizabeth Taylor, at the moment.
Although she is keen to talk about her work, there is more interest in her legal problems. She is thought to be on the verge of having her probation revoked following claims she lied to police about a car crash she was involved in earlier this year. She also recently claimed a man attacked her in her New York City hotel room and got into a violent altercation with her mother Dina.
Lindsay was due to sit down with famed US interviewer Barbara Walters to talk about her troubles, but pulled out earlier this month. Although Barbara has publicly slammed the 26-year-old for the turn around, Lindsay insists they are still friends.
"It's just, the timing wasn't right, right now. I love her, and I'm a big fan of Barbara Walters. I met her when I was very young, and when it's right, she knows she'll be the first person I sit down with," Lindsay told talk show host Jay Leno in an interview aired last night.
"It's all good. I spoke to her people she works with."
Barbara has previously claimed Lindsay ditched plans with her to go on Jay's programme as she knew he wouldn't push her on her tumultuous private life.
"I think to go on Jay Leno and be adorable and amusing, there's still all the problems," the interviewer said.
Lindsay has been in New York City recently, but has now headed back to Los Angeles where it is thought she will appear in court over the next few days. She was involved in a car crash in June, where her Porsche hit a large truck on the freeway. At the time she told police her assistant Gavin Doyle was driving, although he later clarified that it was actually her.
Before heading back to Los Angeles, Lindsay managed to fit in a night of partying earlier this week and was seen helping out the DJ while at nightspot No. 8.
Last night, she attended the premiere of Liz & Dick at the Beverly Hills hotel in Los Angeles. She chose to wear a gold silk gown, paired with red lipstick and a fur stole.
