Former child star Mary-Kate Olsen has reportedly married her fiance Olivier Sarkozy.

The actress-turned-fashion designer became engaged to the French banker in February (14) after two years of dating, and now sources tell the New York Post they are officially husband and wife after quietly tying the knot on Friday (27Nov15).

According to the publication, the Big Apple ceremony was attended by 50 guests and took place at a private residence. Guests were treated to cocktails in the garden of the home, after which they sat down to dinner inside a source told People magazine.

This is the first marriage for Olsen and the second for banker Sarkozy.

The half-brother of France's former leader, Nicolas Sarkozy, was married to writer Charlotte Bernard for 14 years before they separated in 2010. Their divorce was finalised in 2011 and Sarkozy, who has two children from his first marriage, began dating Olsen in May, 2012.

Olsen and Sarkozy are notoriously private and rarely talk about each other in public. When they started their relationship there were many raised eyebrows as the designer was 26 and Sarkozy 16 years her senior, with Olsen responding to the gossip in an interview with WSJ magazine.

"Everyone has an opinion," she said. "I find it's better to focus on what's in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other."
