Eva Mendes is feeling ready to marry Ryan Gosling, it’s claimed.

The 40-year-old actress and her actor partner welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Esmeralda Amada, in September 2014. And it’s thought that after struggling to return to her true self following the birth, Eva now wants to “tie the knot” with Ryan.

“Eva had a pretty bad case of postpartum depression,” a source has told Star magazine via OK! “Her moods were all over the place, and she remained adamant that tying the knot wasn’t a priority.”

The outlet added that now she’s becoming used to her new life as a parent, she’s starting to think about her future with The Notebook actor. The couple have been dating since 2011 after co-starring in The Place Beyond the Pines.

“Eva finally feels like herself again and she’s beginning to look at Ryan in a whole new light,” the insider went on.

“He was so understanding through everything and she realises how lucky she is to have him.”

The magazine suggests a “summer wedding” may be on the cards.

Neither of the stars’ representatives have commented on any such claims, but Eva has spoken out in the past about her thoughts on marriage.

"I'm not like anti-marriage or the institution, like for other people," she said during an appearance on Chelsea Handler back in 2011. "And I love the idea of a union - that's all very beautiful. But I think, you know, it's a very old-fashioned, archaic kind of thing. We did it for land originally. How unromantic is that?"

Meanwhile, People magazine has reported that Ryan is loving fatherhood. According to the publication, it’s something that he had wanted for a while.

“He’s been wanting to be a father for a long time,” a source told them. “He’s cherishing every minute.”
