Dame Helen Mirren reportedly swore at musicians who disturbed her theatre show.
The actress, 67, apparently went on an expletive-filled rant to a set of drummers outside the Soho, London venue where she is starring in The Audience as she thought they were too noisy.
Helen was wearing clothing to represent her character of England’s Queen Elizabeth II when she confronted the marching band.
“She said people had paid ‘a lot of f**king money’ to watch her show and that we were ‘f**king ruining it’,” Promoter Joe O’Leary, 32, told British newspaper The Sun.
“It was strange to see this little woman in tiara and pearls shouting like that. It’s not the behaviour you’d expect from the Queen.”
Helen allegedly tried to grab the conductor’s arm and told the group to “shut the f**k up”.
It came after the musicians were promoting a gay music festival and stopped outside the Gielgud Theatre for around eight minutes.
They were raising awareness of the As One In The Park event, to be headlined by singers Rita Ora and Katy B on May 26 2013.
Apparently the commotion meant some of the first act where the Queen talks to a series of Prime Ministers was hardly audible.
During the interval Helen went outside to face the crew and shocked bystanders with her language.
When the show restarted, after also suffering a power outage, Helen apologised to ticket buyers for the disrupting din.
“She laughed as she said she’d told them ‘not too politely to go away’. She got a standing ovation at the end,” explained one man in attendance.
