Nicole Kidman loves the “slower pace” of living in the American South with her husband and children.
The 48-year-old actress is mother to four children in total, having adopted daughter Isabella and son Connor with her ex-husband Tom Cruise. She also shares two biological daughters with her current spouse Keith Urban.
Nicole lives with Keith and their children in Nashville, Tennessee and she appreciates the “slower pace” of family life there.
"My daughters have Southern accents; it's where my husband's career is and I love it,” Nicole smiled during an interview with Mail on Sunday’s You magazine.
Even though Nicole and her country singer husband Keith are huge international celebrities, they don’t really have a red carpet existence behind closed doors.
She prefers to do absolutely nothing with Keith when they have free time to spend together.
"I put on my pajamas and I'm like: 'Come on Keith, let’s not go out – let’s watch a TV show or a movie at home’,” she shared.
Nicole is currently starring in a play entitled Photograph 51, which is showing in London’s West End.
And the star revealed she would not have signed on to the role if her family life was disrupted by it. The Academy Award-winner is no longer willing to compromise when it comes to balance between work and family time.
“As you get older, you're aware that time is precious," she explained. "That's why doing something like the play is a big ask, I'm only going to do it if we can all go.”
Fortunately Nicole’s children are elated to be in London with her.
The actress claims the tots can’t get enough of travelling.
"The kids love that. They have quite a few stamps in their passports," she said.
Several familial developments have happened for Nicole within the past month or so in the city of London. It was recently reported her adopted daughter Isabella tied the knot in a secret wedding with boyfriend Max Parker at The Dorchester Hotel in September (15).
Although neither Nicole nor her ex Tom were present during the ceremony, the superstar still has nothing but love.
"London has been good to me and I feel very connected to it," she said.
