Pamela Anderson is reportedly in the grip of a mid-life crisis.

The 45-year-old star has experienced a difficult few months. She appeared on a British reality TV show involving ice skating but was voted off in the first week and is facing a huge tax bill.

Her personal problems are said to be causing the star to stress about her future.

"She's definitely going through a mid-life crisis. She can barely sleep and she cries all the time," an insider told National Enquirer.

"She feels like her showbiz career is over and that she has no fans left. It breaks her heart."

The star has famously poured a great deal of money into building her dream home in Malibu, even living in a trailer while work on the project was being completed.

However, her debts mean she has been forced to put the property up for sale.

"She's flat broke and it's put her into major panic mode," the source claimed. "She loves her house and it makes her sick knowing she has to sell it."

Earlier this year, Pamela spoke openly about the stress she has endured while financing the Malibu home.

“I’ve had some interesting therapists. I haven’t been in a long time. I probably should go back. I’ve been working non-stop, digging myself out of a construction hole,” she said. “The house just enveloped me financially and I didn’t know how to handle it. It happens to a lot of people in Hollywood. It was a very stressful couple of years.”
