Rocker Tommy Lee is hepatitis C free after undergoing the same treatment programme as his ex-wife Pamela Anderson.
The former Baywatch star previously revealed she was taking medication to "cure" her of the virus, and earlier this month (Nov15), she claimed she had since been given a clean bill of health - 13 years after revealing she had contracted the condition by sharing a tattoo needle with her ex.
"I am CURED!!!," she wrote on Instagram. "I just found out #nomorehepc #thankyou #blessing #family #prayer #live I pray anyone living with Hep C can qualify or afford treatment. It will be more available soon. I know treatment is hard to get still."
Now Anderson has opened up further about her treatment, admitting the Motley Crue drummer was the first to undergo the three-month programme last year (14), and he recommend it to her.
"You know Tommy did it first, so he got cured first," she explains to U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight. "He had a different kind of treatment because he did it a year earlier than me. And he was always pushing me, 'You got to do this'."
The virus, which affects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide, can cause fatigue, nausea, and cirrhosis of the liver.
Anderson admits she is grateful to finally put an end to her longtime health battle as doctors haven't always been so positive about the diagnosis.
"About 10 years in they said that you could live your whole life with this disease and you may not die from it," the 48 year old says. "You could more likely die from something else, but you could get liver cancer. You could get all these horrible other things."
And Anderson claims coming to terms with possibly dying from the virus prompted her to change her approach to life, especially after becoming a mother.
"I think it played into a lot of my decision making, like, when it came to trying to recreate families for my kids," the star confesses. "Trying to figure out a way to get them secure and trying to figure it all out. I know it did a number on me maybe acting out a little bit and now that I'm cured I feel like I just got all those 20 years back."
"Now I'm going to go crazy," she jokes. "I'm going to do every single thing I can. Every minute counts."
Anderson and Lee, who has yet to comment on his hepatitis health, were married for three years until 1998.
