Pitt: The world is beautiful and violent

Brad Pitt wants his children to know the world is both “beautiful and violent”.

The 50-year-old actor shares six tykes with his wife Angelina Jolie.

And while filming his new World War II feature Fury, Brad admits it was hard to shake off the intensity of his character while at home with the family.

"It was a very intense experience," he told E! News. "I want my kids to understand that it's a beautiful world, but it's also a violent world and to be prepared for both."

The feature, directed by David Ayer, follows Brad’s character, Don 'Wardaddy' Collier, a hardened army sergeant pushing the Allied forces into Nazi Germany.

Young actors Shia LaBeouf, Michael Peña and Scott Eastwood also make appearances in Fury and Brad thought it necessary he leave his castmates with a good impression.

“Through all of the training we went through, we started to really understand each other's strengths and weaknesses," Brad noted. “I couldn't b***h and complain, they could, [but] I had to earn their respect…I love those boys, I will always love those boys.”

Fury was a great success in its box office debut, as it amassed $23.5 million in earnings last weekend, according to early estimates.

But Brad previously spoke about the difficulty he faced while shooting the picture.

At last week’s premiere in Washington D.C., he explained the stench emanating from him and his co-stars was so bad, director David Ayer was repelled. This was because a lot of the World War II movie was shot inside a cramped tank.

"It smelled so bad," Brad confessed as he described the conditions in which they filmed the gruelling project.

But according to the veteran star, "by day three, you don't notice" bodily smells.
