Prepon: Stay grounded

Laura Prepon thinks stars that get arrested are "immature".

The 34-year-old actress is best known for portraying prison inmate Alex Vause on hit Netflix Original series Orange Is the New Black.

Hollywood isn't short of stars who have been locked up in real life, with A-listers Lindsay Lohan, Chris Brown and Paris Hilton among those who have spent time behind bars.

"When I see others acting like that and doing those things... For me, that has to do with immaturity and not knowing how to handle things," Laura admitted to Cover Media.

"There's a lot of pressure but when you have a great team, you help each other. Growing up on the set of That '70s Show, we kept each other grounded. That's very important."

Orange Is the New Black has won several Emmys and thrust Laura, along with co-stars Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba and Lauren Laverne, into the spotlight.

But fame won't change the way the star handles herself in public.

"In my opinion, I'm lucky to have been in this business a long time and to have worked on such great projects," she smiled.

"But when you're an actor, you're famous and people recognise you. You have to keep your integrity and stay humble. You are responsible for your actions."

Orange Is the New Black has been renewed for a third season and is rumoured to debut on Netflix next year.
