(Cover) - EN Movies - Quentin Tarantino may be writing a part for Michael K. Williams in Django Unchained.

The American actor has won widespread critical acclaim for his portrayal of Omar Little in the HBO drama series The Wire, and is currently playing Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire.

Michael lost out on the lead role to Jamie Foxx in Tarantino’s upcoming movie, but has revealed he is still being considered for the film.

“The rumours of me being considered for the lead role in Django [Unchained] is very true. I was in meetings with Quentin, QT as I call him. It came down to Jamie and I. Wow… what a person to lose to,” he said in an interview with Shadow and Act.

“It’s not official yet but there’s a lot of talk that there may be a role coming back ‘round my way.”

Tarantino is currently in the process of finalising cast and crew members for the highly-anticipated movie, which features a stellar line-up.

Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Kevin Costner are all involved.

The plot follows an escaped slave called Django in the American south. Django, portrayed by Foxx, teams up with a bounty hunter to seek revenge on his brutal former slave owner Calvin Candie.

The Weinstein Company’s picture will begin filming in November in New Orleans, Louisiana.

It was written and directed by Tarantino and is scheduled for release in December 2012.
