Eddie Redmayne has explained why he went solo at the SAG Awards.
The Theory of Everything actor is up for two trophies at the high-profile event, but his new wife Hannah Bagshawe was noticeably absent from the red carpet.
But there’s no trouble in paradise, Hannah is simply too busy with real life at the moment to partake in holiday glamour with her other half.
"She's not here because she does a proper job," Eddie told outlets People and TNT at the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday.
The 33-year-old star married the public relations executive last month in Somerset, England at the Babington House.
And according to Eddie, Hannah felt it necessary she return to her professional duties.
"We had our honeymoon over Christmas, and then we came to L.A. for the Golden Globes, and she was like, 'I think I should probably go and show my face at work’,” he shared.
No matter where she is or what she is doing, Eddie is convinced Hannah is lending her support for him from afar.
“No, she's fantastically supportive," he noted.
Eddie has had a wonderful awards season so far, as he already picked up a Golden Globe Award win for his depiction of physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. The star is also up for an Academy Award in the Best Actor category for the role.
And when he heard of the Academy Award nod, he shared a very special moment with wife Hannah.
“I don't know if any words were actually said. There was just a lot of sort of screaming across the phone," he told People Magazine on the red carpet at the 20th Annual Critics' Choice Awards.
