Eddie Redmayne can’t wait to read a “really trashy book” once awards season is over.

The Theory of Everything actor is currently hitting up the red carpets for all the major ceremonies for his role as Dr. Stephen Hawking. But once it’s all over, the 33-year-old is looking forward to a well-earned rest with wife Hannah Bagshawe and some not-so-hard hitting novels.

“[I love a] really trashy book,” he told People magazine. “When you're an actor, there's always something you have to read for work, so you always have to either be reading a script or researching a script, that moment where you get to choose a book that you want to read just for pleasure is that rare thing.”

Eddie spoke to the outlet before taking home the Cinema Vanguard award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival on Thursday. The British star is currently riding high during the awards season having already picked up the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Leading Role for his portrayal of the acclaimed physicist.

Despite being ready for a break, Eddie has taken inspiration from the man who has brought him so much awards success.

“I'm someone who gets caught up in the banalities and anxieties of the every day," he explained. "But I'm just remembering, we only have one shot at this, being on this planet. [The movie] encouraged me to make sure you live your life passionately."
