Reese ‘buys historic Nashville home’

Reese Witherspoon has supposedly splashed out $2 million on a historic Nashville home.

The 38-year-old Walk the Line actress was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but her mother is from Tennessee and Reese moved to Nashville when she was four years old.

And now E! News reports the star has spent $1.95 million on a fixer-upper in the city.

"It's one of those historic houses," listing agent Hal Rosson, of Freeman Webb Company Realtors, told the outlet. "Creek runs down to the front of it with white ducks; it's just a wonderful setting."

The 3,855 sq ft property has four bedrooms, a pool, hardwood floors, a guest house and the property is situated on six and a half acres of land.

Apparently Reese is neighbours with some pretty powerful people, as real estate agent Hal confirms there are several politicians residing close to her new home.

"It's a really great street in Nashville," he said. "[The] Governor's residence is right around the corner."

There is a lot of renovation to be done on the property and according to Tennessee state law the deed on the home prevents Reese from demolishing it.

But Hal claims the actress has no problem doing the work needed to refurbish the home.

Reese is mother to three children and is currently married to talent agent Jim Toth.

The family currently reside in Los Angeles, but often travel around the world for work.
