Rimes: I wasn’t intoxicated onstage

LeAnn Rimes insists she wasn’t drunk while performing on US X Factor Wednesday.

The troubled singer has been feuding with her husband Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife Brandi Glanville recently. Brandi has accused her of being “unstable”.

LeAnn was admitted to rehab for exhaustion and stress earlier this year.

After an awkward performance with Carly Rose Sonenclar on the TV talent show last night, speculation is rife that LeAnn was under the influence throughout the How Do I Live duet.

LeAnn denies this and attributes the weirdness to Carly’s naivety.

"I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song,” she told TMZ.

LeAnn’s lawyer Larry Stein confirms his client’s statements to the website.

Apparently LeAnn was being considerate of Carly’s nerves.

"LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was on stage with a young girl,” Larry said.

"There have been a lot of untrue things said by others and it feeds into this sort of thing."

LeAnn pursued a relationship with Eddie while they were both still legally married.

The couple wed in 2011 and their relationship with Eddie’s ex-wife Brandi has been in turmoil ever since.
