Rivers' daughter 'keeping fingers crossed'

Joan Rivers’ relatives are keeping their “fingers crossed” for good news about her recovery.

The 81-year-old comedienne was rushed to the hospital Thursday after she stopped breathing while reportedly undergoing an operation on her throat.

Her daughter, Melissa, said Sunday family members are trying to remain optimistic about her progress.

“We are keeping our fingers crossed,” she told the Associated Press.

The outlet noted a spokesperson for Mount Sinai Hospital said Sunday there were no updates on the star’s condition.

The remarks came as support flooded in from celebrities, the latest including encouragement from Joan’s Fashion Police! co-star Kelly Osbourne.

“4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight! I encourage U 2 do the same 4 @Joan_Rivers my grandma! #inconsolable (sic),” Kelly tweeted over the weekend.

Melissa previously said family members have been moved by the outpouring of love for the comedy legend.

“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” she told E! News, adding in part: “We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”

TMZ broke the news emergency medical help was called to East 93rd Street in Manhattan at 9:40 a.m. Thursday on a report of a patient in “cardiac and respiratory arrest”, according to the New York Fire Department.

The website claims Joan was undergoing surgery on her vocal cords at a clinic at the time.

According to AP, Joan last spoke Wednesday at an event for Time Inc. in New York.

Spectators told the outlet she appeared to be in good health.
