Julia Roberts has revealed how heartbroken she is about her half sister’s death in February.

Nancy Motes passed away at only 37 years old from a suspected drug overdose. The siblings had a difficult relationship according to reports, with Nancy lashing out at Julia on Twitter in the past, calling her a “b**ch” and “cruel”.

But despite any issues there may have been, it didn’t make her passing any less devastating for the Oscar winner.

“It’s just heartbreak,” the Erin Brockovich star told WSJ Magazine, as she began to tear up. “It’s only been 20 days.
There aren’t words to explain what any of us have been through in these last 20 days. It’s hour by hour some days, but you just keep looking ahead.”

At the time of Nancy’s sudden passing, Julia and her family remained relatively quiet. But with the release of the WSJ interview, the Pretty Woman actress has finally had the chance to share her feelings for her sister.

“You don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, but there are so many tragic, painful, inexplicable things in the world. But [as with] any situation of challenge and despair, we must find a way, as a family,” she explained. “It’s so hard to formulate a sentence about it outside the weepy huddle of my family.”

It isn’t just with her relatives that Julia is drawing strength. The Academy Award winner revealed taking time to reflect is something both she and her children have benefited from during the grieving process.

“Meditation or chanting or any of those things can be so joyous and also very quieting,” she added. “We share and just say, ‘This is a way I comfort myself.’”
