Robin Williams’ estate ‘must be settled soon’

Robin Williams’ kin have reportedly been advised to finalise an estate agreement quickly.

The Mrs. Doubtfire comedy legend committed suicide at his home in Marin County, California in August of last year when he was just 63 years old.

Robin’s widow Susan Schneider Williams filed a court petition in December alleging his trust was “ambiguous” and now she is engaged in a legal battle with his children Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 23, over the comedian’s estate.

According to TMZ the judge presiding over the estate case has ordered the family to come to a resolution over Robin’s belongings by April 10 before the court intervenes in discussions. Apparently the magistrate has advised the foursome to talk with each other via a mediator to create a resolution.

However, the New York Daily News claims the judge has given them until June 1 to finalise estate negotiations.

“The judge set a timetable, which is positive. Hopefully it will come to an end soon," a source told the newspaper.

"It's so sad. Robin Williams didn't want this to end up in court. He was a very private man."

It’s believed Susan and his children are arguing over his personal items. The widow is said to have alleged a number of items, including the tuxedo he wore to their wedding, were removed from his home. Robin’s kids filed a countersuit to Susan’s, accusing her of attempting to steal watches, photos and awards the star wanted them to have.

According to TMZ, the lawyer for Robin’s estate claims “no one has removed a single item from Robin and Susan's home”.
