Roger Waters The Wall is being shown at 9 cinemas across the UK on September 29th and Film-News.co.uk was able to attend a pre-screening of the movie in Dolby Atmos sound and 4K video.

The results are astounding with Waters reflecting on the impact of war on the individual and future generations so that the movie takes on a poignant and personal feeling.

Waters himself has said that “I hope these worldwide screenings … will be a good opportunity to remember, not just our fallen loved one but all the other guys fallen loved ones. Ashes and Diamonds, foe and friend we’re all equal in the end”

Waters has taken the original concept and expanded on it and with a band that includes Snowy White and Dave Kilminster on guitars the spectacle is huge in scope and played brilliantly.

The impact of the combined sound and video put the viewer in the middle of the show and with a huge visual scope the movie simply cannot be seen on a small screen – neither can the average domestic system cope with the sound dynamics and the breadth of the soundscape.

The Re-Recording Mixer for Roger Waters The Wall is Adam Scrivener, who is known for his work on V for Vendetta, Slumdog Millionaire and The Theory of Everything. He worked with Jacob Ribicoff, Sound editor/Supervising sound editor/Sound designer.
