Rumer Willis has advised people to stay true to their integrity.

The 26-year-old star is the daughter of Hollywood superstars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, but has made a name for herself in the showbiz world over the years.

She first ventured onto a film set for Now and Then when she was seven, and since then she has gained some valuable experience on her journey to fame.

"I’ve gotten [advice] from a lot of different people, but the most important thing I realised early on is that you can’t worry about what other people think of you - you have to make yourself happy," she explained to elle.com. "Stay true to your integrity and if you’re doing something that you feel like doesn’t represent your integrity, speak up... If you’re doing something that doesn’t make you feel good, you probably shouldn’t be doing it."

Despite growing up with such famous parents, Rumer didn't feel pressured to get into acting. She was aware of the public eye though and wanted to prove doubters wrong by showcasing her talents.

"I think there’s always a stigma in the public about that. Everyone’s always like, ‘Oh, this f**ker. What is she going to do'’ They look at you and wonder what you can actually do," she sighed.

"There’s a stereotype of people coming out and not actually having talent. But in my family I was always supported in whatever I wanted to do. It was just important that I finish high school and not work before that."

Rumer can currently be seen on stage in For the Record: Baz Luhrmann, in which the director's iconic films such as Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet are brought to life. It's being shown in Los Angeles and the actress thinks it's a great start to being in theatre.

"They said, ‘Would you ever want to be a part of it'’ I said, ‘I would love to. Just let me know when you’re going to start up again.’ They were like, ‘Uh, well, you’re going to start tomorrow,'" she recalled. "Honestly, I would love to do Broadway maybe at some point."
