AMBI Group’s Andrea Iervolono and Monika Bacardi are financing the film with Paradox Studio’s Mikael Wiren, according to the outlet.
The pair are also producing with Paradox’s Silvio Muraglia, while Mikael is executive producing with Frank Konigsberg and David Wyler.
The film is slated for a 2015 release, according to IMDb.
Sarah meanwhile has been fielding rumours she’s set to reprise her most famous role as Carrie Bradshaw in a new Sex and the City movie.
Last month, Jennifer Hudson, who starred in the first big screen adaptation of the US TV series in 2008, confirmed talks about a third film were underway.
"I think it might be [happening]," she told Dish Nation about another instalment of the story, which has followed Carrie and her friends Miranda (Cynthia Hart), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigated the single life in New York City.
"Somebody just came to me talking about that. So if it's in the talks, it might happen. So look for it. Look for your girl, Louise from St. Louis!" Jennifer said.
Sarah earlier this year approached the rumours with caution.
“We've never really had real conversation about it, other than that I know there is a story," she told reporters at Cannes Lions 2014.
"I think it's a really lovely, wonderful story but whether or not we tell it remains to be seen."
