Zoe Saldana has confirmed she's having twins by joking she needs "three costumes" this Halloween.

The 36-year-old actress and her husband Marco Perego are eagerly awaiting the births of their first children, with Zoe's pregnancy confirmed in July. It was swiftly reported that she was actually expecting two babies, although the star has kept quiet on the subject until now.

"I might. I might need three costumes," she told E! Online when asked if she will be dressing up for the spooky holiday. "I might have to make some adjustments, but it would be nice."

Zoe was talking at the opening of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Hollywood Costume exhibit in Los Angeles yesterday. She attended with Marco and looked radiant in a billowing pink dress which did little to hide her growing baby bump.

The star was pressed on what kind of outfit she might go for on October 31 and joked that a bride could be a good idea.

"It would be a shotgun wedding," she giggled.

The star has stayed under the radar during her pregnancy, not talking about it much even though she's been seen out and about. She is notorious for keeping her personal life private, with her wedding to Marco conducted in complete secrecy.

However, in the past she has spoken for generally about her desire to be a mom.

"[I'd like] two or three," she said in 2012. "Or four or five! I don't care. They're just so delicious. I love the anxiety, the pressure of the loud room full of yapping kids. But I'm a kid myself. I get along very well with animals and children. I dig them. I get them. They make perfect sense to me. A child speaks more sense than an adult half of the time."
