Sam Claflin doesn't understand how he can be seen as sexy.
The 28-year-old has won fans the world over as Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games franchise and can also be seen as Lily Collins' love interest in romantic flick Love, Rosie.
While he gets hearts beating with his onscreen performances, Sam can't get his head around the fact that women are lusting after him.
"I find it very uncomfortable, if I'm honest," he admitted to German magazine Jolie when asked what he makes of his sex-symbol status.
"Because I don't see myself that way at all. When I first got the script for The Hunger Games, I thought, 'Why is it me they want to cast as Finnick Odair?' I knew I was capable of playing him, but I found it hard to sell myself that way. Because I just can't understand why anyone should find me sexy."
In general, things could have been very different for The Riot Club star. Rather than appearing on the big screen, he always imagined he'd be getting muddy on a soccer pitch for a living.
"When I was 16 I injured myself badly and had to sit out of soccer," he recalled.
"In that time, I realised a few things. I was very small at the time; all my friends were bigger and more muscly than me. I just wasn't strong enough or talented enough to keep up. So, with a heavy heart, I had to say goodbye to that dream."
