Sam Worthington welcomes child

Sam Worthington has become a father.

The 38-year-old Avatar actor has been in a relationship with Australian model Lara Bingle since 2013.

And People magazine has confirmed the couple have welcomed their first child together after she delivered the newborn in Los Angeles. No further details about their baby, such as a date of birth or a name, have been released.

However, sources tell Us Weekly magazine the pair are absolutely overjoyed with the new arrival.

"The baby was coming any day for the last week. Their families came in and they've been staying at his place…" the insider noted. "Sam couldn't be happier."

Sam and Lara chose to keep mum on her pregnancy, but she was photographed with a growing baby bump while out and about in Los Angeles and New York City.

Rumours surfaced earlier this year the pair decided to get married. People magazine referred to 27-year-old Lara as Sam’s “wife” in their birth announcement article, noting her name is Lara Bingle Worthington.

A source informed WHO the couple tied the knot in front of a handful of loved ones in December 2014 somewhere in tropical paradise.

“They married between Christmas and New Year in a very intimate ceremony,” the insider told the publication. “They wanted it to be small and simple.”

It’s believed Sam and Lara were smitten with each other from the very beginning of their romance.

“They're inseparable," a source previously told Us Weekly magazine. "They've been making steps in their relationship but he's an extremely private guy."
