(Cover) - EN Movies - Samuel L. Jackson will portray a teen assassin’s mentor in Barely Lethal.
According to Variety the Django Unchained actor is currently in final negotiations to take on the key part.
Barely Lethal stars Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage executioner who escapes her murderous lifestyle by faking her own death. She yearns to live a normal life in the suburbs. Samuel will portray the man “who trains her in the programme”, the website reports.
Kyle Newman will direct the project from a script written by John D’Arco.
Brett Ratner and John Cheng will produce under their Rat Entertainment company along with RKO Pictures’ Ted Hartley and Vanessa Coifman and Sukee Chew of Hopscotch Pictures.
Samuel will next be seen in director Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy, which is due out in October.
Hailee is on fire this week as she has reportedly been cast in For the Dogs starring alongside Sam Worthington.
She has quite a busy couple of years ahead as she will appear in a whopping nine new pictures.
The star’s upcoming films include dramedy Can A Song Save Your Life? and drama Hateship, Loveship, which features Guy Pearce, Kristen Wiig, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
