Sarah Gadon thinks it would be "narcissistic" to say she doesn't like seeing herself on screen.

The Canadian actress stars in Dracula Untold, the latest take on the classic vampire tale. Many stars claim they don't enjoy watching their films, but the 27-year-old doesn't think it makes sense.

"It's narcissistic to say you don't like watching yourself; it's your ego saying: 'I don't want to see my flaws,'" she argued to the UK edition of Elle magazine.

"But I don't see a lot of myself, because I'm playing a character."

Dracula Untold is due to hit cinemas in October, just in time for creepy holiday Halloween. Sarah can still remember the first time she saw a horror movie.

"There's something about watching them, right?" she mused.

"It's energising. I remember watching The Exorcist when I was 13. To this day, it's the scariest film I've ever seen."

Dominic Cooper and Luke Evans star alongside Sarah in the vampire drama. There are plenty of creepy moments and she admits that she got a bit freaked out shooting the flick - not least because of the stunts involved.

"Yes! I was scared making it," she said.

"In a battle scene, with fighting going on around us, I wiped out a few times. I was running through the forest at top speed - there was mud and it was raining. I had lots of bruises."
