Susan Sarandon’s beau Jonathan Bricklin has denied split rumours.

Page Six originally reported the 68-year-old actress decided to call it quits with her 37-year-old boyfriend after they began filming Morgan Spurlock’s AOL reality series Connected with each other.

But Jonathan claims this hearsay isn’t grounded in reality.

"Susan and I have a lot of respect and great admiration for each other," he told People magazine. "It's impossible to concisely characterise our relationship, other than to say that it continues to evolve in new and unexpected ways. She supported my decision to be a part of AOL's Connected, and making this series about my life has brought up real and somewhat unexplored issues, but it didn't break us up."

Connected is a programme that centres on six couples who were given a camera to document their lives in New York City.

The show launches on March 31 and it’s believed Susan makes several appearances on the programme.

Susan and Jonathan began seeing each other soon after she split from long-term partner Tim Robbins in 2009, decades after they began dating in 1988.

She and Jonathan met in 2010 on a trip to Chile. The pair are in business together, as they co-own hit New York City ping pong nightspot, SPiN.

Susan has previously discussed her views on love, noting she doesn’t favour any particular type of partner.

"It's the soul of the person that interests me,” she told British magazine Hello! “When you are in love, the questions of age, sex, colour no longer hold any importance."
