Seth Rogen says it's not true that Jonah Hill wants to be a serious actor.

The comedians both star in This Is the End, which Seth helped direct and also co-wrote.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Jonah refused to answer questions about passing gas insisting they were "dumb" and he wasn't "that kind of person".

Jonah was nominated for an Oscar for his role alongside Brad Pitt in 2011's Moneyball and said he was proud of his achievements.

However, Seth says his friend doesn't plan to ditch his funny-man image any time soon.

"No, it's not true, I think he was taken out of context," Seth laughed to Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O.
"He's making [comedy] 21 Jump Street 2 next, so that's not serious!"

Seth and his co-stars certainly don't seem to be taking themselves too seriously when it comes to promoting This Is the End.

The star and his some of his famous pals turned up to screenings of the movie to give fans an unexpected treat.
"We did, it was fun and I was pretty drunk," he chuckled.

"It was nice; luckily the [cinemas] were full for the most part. We just walked in before it started and thanked them for coming."

Rihanna has a cameo in the film and Seth confirmed he almost got Cameron Diaz and Elizabeth Banks involved, but sadly their schedules clashed.

In some scenes for This Is the End the cast are seen getting high, but Seth insists it was all acting.

"I heard on Easy Rider they all smoked real weed and that's the only movie I have ever seen it on," he explained.

"And there was a guy whose job it was to just roll joints all day!"
