Sting’s tantric sex truth

Sting considers sex the most pure way of expressing love.

The 63-year-old actor has been married to 60-year-old Trudie Styler since 1992.

And when asked about his famous tantric sex confession during an interview on Inside the Actors Studio, Sting opened up about the truth behind whether he can stay intimate for seven hours straight.

“If we had seven hours, I would demonstrate,” he laughed. “There is some truth to it in that the idea of tantric sex is that sex is a spiritual act.”

Sting clarified while his original confession has become famous worldwide, there are certain aspects of his statement he stands by.

And the main thing Sting stressed during the interview is that the act of love should not be rushed.

“I don’t know any purer and better way of expressing a love for another individual than sharing that wonderful, I call it sacrament,” he said. “I would stand by it. Not seven hours. The idea.”

He then joked: “Seven hours includes a movie and dinner.”

Sting’s wife Trudie previously revealed his original tantric sex admission was the result of some drunken boasting.

"Bob Geldof and Sting had gone to do an interview with a rock journalist, and the interview turned into a drinking session,” Trudie told the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

"At one point, the journalist asked how long they could go for, and Geldof said he was a three-minute man, but, as Sting did yoga, he could probably go for hours. And Sting said, 'Well, haven't you heard of tantric sex?'

"So Sting explained that it is all about being intimate, about caring for your partner, really engaging in intimacy before you, you know... have sex. And that's the premise of tantra, really. It's simply engagement with your partner."
