Tara Reid is officially on board for Sharknado 3.

The 39-year-old actress received plenty of press, both comical and critical, for her starring role in the previous two movies about a tornado full of killer sharks. And now it’s been announced she’s part of the cast returning to make a third installment.

As reported by Entertainment Tonight, the SyFy Channel announced on Thursday that it would be bringing the American Pie star back as April Wexler for the television movie.

In addition, her co-star Ian Ziering is coming back to reprise the role of her love interest and shark-fighting partner in crime, Fin Shepard. Whilst Tara comes off the back of horror movie Charlie’s Farm, Ian is most known for playing Steve Sanders on hit 1990’s television series Beverly Hills, 90210.

SyFy says the movie will initially take place in Washington D.C., before heading down the coast.

“[It] will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital then roar down the Eastern Seaboard,” they said in a release.

Sharknado became a global phenomenon on account of its absurdity when the first installment was released in July 2013 - pulling 3.9 million viewers according to the channel. The second film was released in July 2014.

Tara took to Twitter to express her happiness over the news.

"Ok guys I have a great announcement get ready its official I just signed on to #Sharknado3 Woo hoo!!!!! (sic)" she wrote on Thursday.

She also spoke in the past about how she believes a shark-ridden tornado is plausible. According to her, it's not at all physically impossible.

“You know, it actually can happen," she told GQ magazine. "I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it's like probably 'pigs could fly.' Like, I don't think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”
