(Cover) - EN Movies - Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum are “interested” in starring in a remake of Guys and Dolls.

Deadline reports that the actors are being lined up by 20th Century Fox, who have closed the movie rights to the project.

It is hoped that Joseph and Channing will play lead roles Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson in the new adaptation, which currently has no writer or director.

The actors impressed at this year’s Oscars when Channing danced onstage with Charlize Theron, while Joseph sang with host Seth MacFarlane and Daniel Radcliffe.

The parts of gambler Nathan and his friend Sky were played in the 1955 film by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando.

According to Deadline, many stars including Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel and Hugh Jackman had previously been hoping to play the leads.

However, Jo Loesser, the widow of Guys and Dolls songwriter Frank Loesser had long been reluctant to sign the rights over until recently.

The film was adapted from the 1950 musical which won the prestigious Tony Award and the 1951 Pulitzer for Drama.
