Terrence Howard’s ex-wife is claiming he owes her $508,000.

Michelle Ghent filed for divorce from 46-year-old Terrence in 2011 after just a year of marriage.

Following their divorce being finalised in May 2013, Terrence was told to pay Michelle $5,800 a month in spousal support.

However, that figure rises if he makes over $62,500 per quarter. In that situation, Terrence would have to give Michelle 21% of the excess.

Since Terrence’s television show Empire has proved a massive hit, it’s expected his $125,000 per episode wage from the first season will drastically increase for a second series.

According to TMZ.com, Michelle is claiming that Terrence did not pay her the 21% and owes her $508,000 so far.

Court documents obtained by the outlet show Michelle is alleging that Terrence has been using the business of his first ex-wife, Lori McCommas, to make it seem as though he hasn’t been earning as much as he does.

TMZ say that Terrence had claimed in November that he was earning less than $6,000 per month.

They also say that Michelle is due to stop getting spousal support next year.

Terrence has yet to comment on Michelle’s allegations.

The actor stars as Lucious Lyon in Fox drama Empire, which started shooting in September. The show has had record breaking ratings success, but Terrence recently admitted he didn’t expect it to be a hit.

“I read the script, and it's got Cookie and Luscious and what the hell is all of this? And my gay son? I didn't think it was going to work,” he told Access Hollywood Live. “I called my assistant [and said,] 'This is c**p. This ain't going to work.’”
