Tina Fey's Halloween production values get bigger each year.

The American funnywoman is celebrating the spooky holiday with daughters Alice, nine, and three-year-old Penelope.

While she won't divulge what costumes have been selected this year, Tina did reveal she prefers to make them herself.

"I like to make the costumes with them at home. The production values get bigger and bigger each year," Tina joked to Us Weekly magazine.

Tina has her girls with husband Jeff Richmond and is proud of her family unit. While Alice has more mature interests, such as BBC TV show Doctor Who, Penelope is a little harder to handle.

"Well, my little one bites people: friends, family - famous people!

“They [both] just wipe their faces on you. You’re like a human napkin!” she said.

Tina is often lauded for her writing abilities as well as her acting. She's been a regular on Saturday Night Live for more than 15 years and is close to the other females on the show, including her comedy partner in crime Amy Poehler.

“There’s an SNL moms text chain. I wish I could publish it because it’s so funny - but it’s so dirty,” she smiled.

The 44-year-old is busier than ever with work and has three new projects in the pipeline. And there's pressure from one particular former co-star who's hopeful Tina will make another Mean Girls. Lindsay Lohan took on the lead role in the cult 2004 film, and outlined her plans to pester Tina into penning another chapter of the story.

"People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls, like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating," Lindsay previously said to British magazine Time Out London. "That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it."
